Ruffles have been everywhere this fashion season. What we see on ramps around the world are usually exaggerated versions that cannot always be replicated in everyday life. But you can always tone it down and tweak it to your style sensibilities & the occasion.

What I was going for was a subtle feminine look with ruffled pieces. Instead of going for a full on color on color look, I wore black & white head-to-toe to keep it more contemporary and wearable. This ruffled collar chiffon blouse has a modern yet Victorian feel. I paired it with a black chikan work tiered skirt. Now, I really could’ve worn white sneakers, but reminded myself that I wanted to be more feminine and I wore classic black patent leather pointed toe sling back heels( wow that’s a long description for ‘shoes’) but with off-white patterned socks. This textured leather sling bag completed the look. This amazing quality bag (less than INR 1500) is also available in dove grey and white. I suggest you get it before it’s gone!

Pro tip: When you have too much going on in an outfit or are trying to incorporate a new trend (like socks with heels), try it first with neutral colors or black & white- very little can go wrong.

Comment below and tell me how you like to wear ruffles or if there’s any trend you’d like to try ( or like me to blog about)
