The slip dress is one of the most versatile pieces. Dress it up or dress it down, you can always make it work. I can’t get enough of the slip dress trend & I wholeheartedly thank whoever brought it back! You can imagine how elated I was when I found this pink slip among my old stuff! Turns out, I had bought it ages ago to wear as a slip under something (it is an actual slip and not a slip ‘dress’) but never actually wore it. Immediately, I made up my mind to wear it the following day. I’m impatient like that.

Trying it on, I found it to be more satin-y than silk-y( Can you tell the difference or am I just cuckoo?) Therefore, I wore it with my trusty white tee to make it more casual and cut the shine. If you don’t have a plain white tee in your closet, you need to get one ASAP! But something felt amiss….maybe too pink/too girly for the mood I was in. So out came my  trusty blue jeans and there! It felt perfect and exactly how I would wear a satin slip dress today.

Now that the balance was restored( lol), I could throw in more pink and rose gold with my platforms and shades without over doing it. Who else is loving pink nowadays? There was a time I absolutely never wore pink, but it’s surely growing on me.

Pro tip : When you’re wearing a color you don’t usually wear, like pink, it is very easy to overdo it. Here, my pink dress is the focus and all other elements are complimentary. Always try to balance out the statement color and garment with other neutral shades( I count denims as neutral as well, btw)

Hope this has inspired you to take a good look at what’s in your wardrobe and rediscover clothes you have stopped wearing for xyz reasons and wear them in a completely new way.
