What comes to your mind when I say Yellow ? Sunshine? Sunflowers? Happiness & positivity? Basically all good things. Maybe that’s the reason why Pantone has named it as one of the trending colours for SPRING 2018. And I couldn’t agree more – this cheery tone is much needed to brighten our days and our daily outfits.
While recently shopping for my casual winter layers, I got this marigold oversized jacket from the Shein website. I have always felt that yellow is not something that goes with everything, but I am also someone who LOVES some variety in my wardrobe. I buy clothes by judging their potential and how many times I would be able to wear it, and clearly this one had some. Whatever little doubt I had was washed away when Pantone declared it as one of the main colours to watch out for in 2018. Other colours named were orange and lavender.
The primary colour palette is something I have always found pleasing to the eye, hence this look came to be. This jacket pairs beautifully with my orange-red velour midi skirt ( also featured here) Also, yellow shades because I’m extra like that. But you know that already. The third primary colour is blue, I cheated a little and wore a white tee with blue writing and added a blue bandana as a headwrap ( I quite like it, what do you think?) An olive sling bag and black boots were the finishing touches to my look.
Yellow is such a positive and vibrant colour and getting a comfy oversized jacket that is so versatile makes it a great start to my New Year. How do you like this look ?
